Accademia Adrianea di Architettura e Archeologia Roma
International Seminar of Museography of Villa Adriana

Project for a theatrical  and performances space, archaeological area  of Villa Adriana, Tivoli.
Winner of the Third Place.

The general idea that guides the proposal for the competition is a path intended as cognitive moment. For this reason it was decided to design an itinerant theater and to stage the adaptation for the theatre of “Mémoires d’Hadrien” by M.Yourcenar. Each of the 5 acts is placed in a different location and a footpath will guide the spectator through the villa to the discovery of the show and the place itself. The leitmotif is a wooden walkway that sometimes becomes ramp and then seat. It is designed to be reversible and has a telescopic shape that allows an easly reassembly. Some portals with imperial red curtains highlight the passages between the various locations. The path is a ring composition, it starts from the wall of the Pecile and back, passing by the Room of Philosophers, the Maritime Theatre, core of the system, the Garden of Libraries, the Thermal baths with Eliocamino.
